Parking Reminder

A final reminder to please always enter your number plate when you arrive. We have had a number of students receiving tickets this week. Whilst we should be able to cancel any issued tickets we cannot always guarantee this. There is now only 30 minutes free parking if you don’t!

Instagram…first love

Just over a year ago a young couple came to us with a handful of Strictly and Dancing With The Stars clips, and a dream to perform a similarly styled routine for their wedding first dance.

We started them off with learning the basic Waltz (and in fact Antony came up with a new way of teaching Waltz & Viennese Waltz to our beginners off the back of it!). As time went on we started putting together their wedding dance, and a number of highlight moments were introduced. You can enjoy one of them below:

Parking Tickets Possible

It has come to our attention that the new parking restrictions came into force early by mistake. We have seen reports that dog walkers have been receiving tickets from the week of 26th August.

Hopefully all our students entered their number plates in the tablet, however if you do find yourself with a ticket you will need to contact Burnham Parish Council to have it cancelled.

Please forward any tickets received, for the period 26/8-31/8, to assistantclerk@burnhamparish.gov.uk and they will get them cancelled.

A reminder to ALWAYS enter your number plate in the parking tablet as we cannot guarantee that we will be able to cancel an issued ticket, though we will always do our best.

New Marketing Launching

You will notice over the next few weeks that we will be videoing/photographing at various points during classes and lessons. This is to accompany a new marketing campaign that we are launching.

You’ll also begin to see more regular video content released on our social media channels as a result.

There are also posters up around the studio with a QR code that you can scan to leave us a review on Google. We’d really appreciate it if you would give us a quick review as we’re aiming to get from 17 reviews up to 100!

Viennese Waltz American Smooth Course

Our American Smooth course will extend on Wednesday 3rd July.

We will be moving away from American Smooth Waltz and looking instead at Viennese Waltz smooth steps

The course costs £50pp and is open for new joiners as we move into the new dance style.

Simply Swing Live Band Event

We sold out this week but we have had a couple of students who will be unable to attend so if you were still looking to come tonight, and missed out, contact us ASAP!

Bournemouth Dance Weekend

Our Bournemouth Dance Weekend will take place at The Queens Hotel & Spa this year from Friday 4th-Sunday 6th October.

This year’s break will be Quickstep & Jive with a ‘Guys & Molls’ theme to the Saturday night.

We have had a double/twin room become available. All other rooms are now fully booked.

Summer Dinner & Dance

Our summer dinner & dance takes place on Friday 9th August. Doors open at 7pm with food ready around 7.30pm/7.45pm.

The menu includes a selection of meats, halloumi kebabs, five side dishes and a summer dessert.

The evening costs £40pp and includes a welcome drink. We are already 25% booked!

Always wanted to know how to dance the Social Foxtrot?

Or maybe you’ve been dancing with us for years and have forgotten this useful social dance for when space is tight?

This course is primarily aimed at beginners looking to focus on the Social Foxtrot and master the basics but we expect to end up covering the entire Social Foxtrot and is a good choice even for experienced dancers.

The course will run for 4 weeks and cost £35 per person.

We have a Beginner Waltz course starting on Sunday 7th April at 6pm.

Tango Course Extension

Our Monday night Tango Course will be extending for another 6 weeks from Monday 8th April.

Experienced dancers are welcome to join the course at this point.

The course extension costs £50pp for the 6 week extension.

American Smooth Course

Starting on Wednesday 10th April will be an American Smooth course.

This course will focus on some of the more ‘Fred & Ginger’ style steps that you can incorporate into your existing Ballroom dances.

There will be NO LIFTS on this course!

The course costs £50pp for the 6 weeks and will be extended as long as there is demand. Read more

Anniversary Party

We will be hosting our Anniversary Party on Friday 26th April from 7pm-11pm.

The ticket price of £10 includes a welcome drink.

Dancing starts from around 8.30pm.

Kristina Rihanoff Workshop Day

Our Kristina Rihanoff workshop day has moved to Saturday 18th May at Kristina’s request.

The sessions will start now in the morning and run as follows:

11am Cha Cha
12pm Samba
1pm Jive

The workshops cost £25pp, £42.50 for any two, £57.50 for 3 or £70 for all four.

Simply Swing Live Band Event

For our June social we have invited a wonderful Ballroom and Latin American band, Simply Swing, to come to the studio.

The evening will feature 3 x 40minute live sets, with recorded music provided during the breaks.

Bournemouth Dance Weekend

Our Bournemouth Dance Weekend will take place at The Queens Hotel & Spa this year from Friday 4th-Sunday 6th October.

As well as DB&B our students will also have access to their indoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as discounted spa treatments.

This year’s break will be Quickstep & Jive with a ‘Guys & Molls’ theme to the Saturday night.

The cost will be £315pp, with a £70 single person supplement. You can save £15pp if you book and pay in full before 30th April.

There are also upgrades available (based on 2 sharing) of £20pp to a Supreme Double or £40pp to a Junior Suite.

We only have 1 Solo Rooms, 3 Supreme Doubles and 1 Junior Suite remaining.

Instagram…some bunny to dance

We had a great Good Friday Afternoon Tea on Friday, including receiving these wonderful statues as a gift from a student.

A brief dilemma as to where we were going to site them, but we think we’ve found a nice place to display.

YouTube…dance lessons are coming back

It’s been a long two year hiatus from our regular YouTube lessons, whilst we worked on rebuilding the dance school following Covid.

However we’re now ready to start releasing new video lessons, with our initial plan being some companion videos to our upcoming Beginner Waltz Course. The first video will be released on Sunday 7th April to coincide with the start of the course.

You can enjoy our relaunch teaser below (oh and we’ve included our usual outtakes selection for your enjoyment too!)

Feel free to check out our YouTube channel for more videos. The more you watch and like our videos it really helps us to be recommended to other viewers so we’d appreciate that too.

Beginner Waltz Course

We are going to trial reintroducing courses for complete beginners, so they can focus on a single dance over a few weeks.

The courses will take place on Sundays at 6pm, starting with Waltz from Sunday 7th April. This first course will be 5 weeks and costs £42pp. Read more…

Tango Course Extension

Our Monday night Tango Course will be extending for another 6 weeks from Monday 8th April.

We have just started touching on Silver level figures but some of this course will be focused on consolidating moves learnt in the first 12 weeks.

Experienced dancers are welcome to join the course at this point.

The course extension costs £50pp for the 6 week extension.

American Smooth Course

Starting on Wednesday 10th April will be an American Smooth course.

This course will focus on some of the more ‘Fred & Ginger’ style steps that you can incorporate into your existing Ballroom dances.

There will be NO LIFTS on this course!

The course costs £50pp for the 6 weeks and will be extended as long as there is demand. Read more

Anniversary Party

We will be hosting our Anniversary Party on Friday 26th April from 7pm-11pm.

The ticket price of £10 includes a welcome drink.

Dancing starts from around 8.30pm.

We are already 25% booked for this event.

Kristina Rihanoff Workshop Day

Due to a scheduling conflict Kristina has asked if we can switch these workshops to Saturday 18th May. Alternatively we may look at engaging a different ex-Strictly pro for these workshops.

We are currently in contact with existing bookings to confirm how many would be able to make the switch to the Saturday.

Confirmation of any changes are expected this week and we will let you know as soon as possible.

Simply Swing Live Band Event

For our June social we have invited a wonderful Ballroom and Latin American band, Simply Swing, to come to the studio.

The evening will feature 3 x 40minute live sets, with recorded music provided during the breaks.

Bournemouth Dance Weekend

Our Bournemouth Dance Weekend will take place at The Queens Hotel & Spa this year from Friday 4th-Sunday 6th October.

As well as DB&B our students will also have access to their indoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as discounted spa treatments.

This year’s break will be Quickstep & Jive with a ‘Guys & Molls’ theme to the Saturday night.

The cost will be £315pp, with a £70 single person supplement. You can save £15pp if you book and pay in full before 30th April.

There are also upgrades available (based on 2 sharing) of £20pp to a Supreme Double or £40pp to a Junior Suite.

We only have 1 Solo Rooms, 3 Supreme Doubles and 1 Junior Suite remaining.
